Fathom Five wins at Epsom for Hintlesham Thoroughbreds

22nd Apr 2009

On a glorious day at Epsom, FATHOM FIVE had his first start for Chris Wall and showed his well-being in the best possible manner, winning for the 5th time and indicating a great season ahead.

5 furlongs at Epsom is the fastest sprint perhaps in the world but certainly in Europe and 55 seconds is quick! Starting 2nd favourite in an open race full of good sprinters, FATHOM FIVE had a great ride from Alan Munro, tracking the leaders until it was time to say "go". Whip poised, it was put away as the little bay gelding forged ahead and won comfortably by three quarters of a length, giving 9 lbs to the 2nd and 3rd.

A great start for Hintlesham Thoroughbreds in which membership is £135 x 8 or £995 for an excelllent association with three horses in Newmarket with Chris and Peter Chapple-Hyam.
