ROYAL TROOPER WINS WELL AT THIRSK

Late developer gets off the mark in style

24th Jul 2009

ROYAL TROOPER, purchased for €100,000 at Goffs Million Sale by Allan Bloodlines for owner John Barson and trainer James Given, got off the mark this afternoon with an emphatic win over a mile and a half at Thirsk.

Relishing the easier ground, this beautifully bred colt came back from an unlucky run last time to track the field, then pass every horse before striding away in fine style. A strongly made yearling, this fellow was never going to be a 2 year old and is the sort to win again at 3 before developing into a very good stayer at 4, all going well. Congratulations to connections and thank you for your business !
