Sticky start but a progressive sale

Allan Bloodlines had a steady NATIONAL YEARLING SALES in Johannesburg 26-28 April selling three and buying or assisting in buying half a dozen.

The Friday morning session was new and very dull with auctioneers drawing bids like pulled teeth.  One of ours sold in that session – not well but acceptably.  Then the afternoon session picked up with a much firmer feel.  Not only did we sell much better, but there were major fireworks as the top buyers locked horns over teh few obvious seven figure lots.

Sunday seemed solid and straightforward although the overall figures showed considerable increases year on year.

Our filly picks of the sale were v ery focussed on two individuals to which we bid R 575,000 and R 400,000 respectively, being under-bidder on both but electing not to go higher for the client. The successful purchases were all pinhooks into the ReadytoRun Sales in November/December working with Balmoral Stud.
