Amidst a burst of successes for his trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam, the Allan Bloodlines purchased, owned and managed colt BASKERVILLE (Foxhound – Miss Up ‘n’ Go) fought bravely to win his maiden at Warwick by the shortest of short heads. In a performance made all the more meritorious by jockey Alan Munro losing an iron in the last 250 yards, BASKERVILLE fought back from being headed to take the race on the line. Bought for only 8,000 guineas as a yearling at Tattersalls October Part 2, this colt seems to be fulfilling the promise of his late season races at 2 and will undoubtedly need farther than today’s 7 furlongs.
