Carrying the colours of HINTLESHAM RACING to an emphatic win in Nottingham’s most valuable race of the day, 3 year old colt BASKERVILLE romped home in Soft ground to win by 2½ lengths. A course winner over a mile in the Spring, BASKERVILLE had kicked off the season with a first time out win at Warwick (7 furlongs). Relishing the step up to a mile and a quarter today, the son of Foxhound kicked clear after seeing off several challengers in the straight and thoroughly justified trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam’s placement. With the Racing Post predicting further wins, BASKERVILLE goes to the Horses in Training Sale next week with interesting prospects.
