Following BASKERVILLE’s success at Warwick on Easter Monday, The HINTLESHAM RACING colours were carried to victory today in another example of Peter Chapple-Hyam’s great results with early season 3 year old maidens. CORTESIA (Courteous – Cecina by Welsh Saint), an attractive, well made chestnut filly, stretched her neck out very gamely to thwart the Sheikh Hamdan owned, Barry Hills trained favourite SAFQA on the line in the Robert Sangster Memoral Maiden at Newbury.

In addition to the interest retained by Allan Bloodlines, there are three owners in this exciting filly who welcomed into partnership after her preparatory 2 year old season in which she performed encouragingly in one October run at Newmarket. They were all present to enjoy success on a first class racecourse with the prospects of a little pot-hunting to come, all going well.

The performance was all the more meritorious as the filly twisted a shoe during the race and will benefit not only for this run but also for trip longer than this 10 furlong contest.
