Quiet but successful restart to the sales season
In a quiet comeback at Tattersalls Book 2, Allan Bloodlines bought two while Rabbah, Darley and Shadwell bought exactly one hundred yearlings, and perhaps more besides. But we were very pleased with a Bahamian Bounty filly bought for an established client: A first foal with plenty of scope out of a winning GRAND SLAM half sister to a Group 1 (Racing Post Trophy) winner SARATOGA SPRINGS himself out of a GENERAL ASSEMBLY half sister to another Gr.1 winner with plenty more on the page. 25,000 guineas may prove to be yet another value purchase (as we expected to pay more but the filly market was softer than the rush for colts). The filly is at Fawley House Stud to be started and a trainer will be decided upon later. The other acquisition was a later developing MANDURO filly to be trained by Mark Usher in Lambourn. Out of a full black type WOODMAN mare who has produced three winners including small black type, her family is packed full of American, Italian and French black type.
