Warwick victory is Eddie Ahern’s 100th And the other colt by Fath runs well at Hamilton
DON’T PANIC by Fath out of Torrmana by Ela Mana Mou, purchased by Allan Bloodlines at Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale in 2005 and managed by them on behalf of owner Tony Webb won a Warwick maiden yesterday by a much longer looking 5 lengths. Placed in training with Peter Chapple-Hyam, who also won the second division of the maiden, DON’T PANIC had finished 4th first time out in a Glorious Goodwood maiden which is showing the form to be good. Sent to The Curragh for the Tattersalls Sales Race, the Fath colt finished 4th over a too-short 6 furlongs and then flourished on his return to 7.
The Warwick race was not overly strong but the manner of victory was most impressive. DON’T PANIC made all the running and sprinted clear to be eased for much of the entire final furlong by Eddie Ahern who thereby chalked up his 100th winner of the season.
Another Allan Bloodlines winner by Fath, FATHOM FIVE, also from the Tattersalls Ireland sale and a winner and twice second already from the Bryan Smart stable, ran up to form at Hamilton finishing 3rd in a strong nursery thus improving on his only disappointing run of the season when he failed to handle the track at Catterick and finished 6th. FATHOM FIVE may contest the Redcar 2 year old trophy and the next contest for DON’T PANIC has yet to be identified.
