Our winning Arran Stud-based Australian bred Rock of Gibraltar mare GIBRALTAR EXPRESS produced an excellent looking chestnut filly this morning by COUP DE GRACE.

The only disappointment with this lovely mare, bought by David when in foal to GLOBAL VIEW (Galileo), is what happened to her first foal (not bred or owned by us).

That Jackson filly raced a number of times at 2 and 3 over the minimum distance of 1000 metres which seemed inappropriate for this family and for Jackson. Sadly the owner of the first foal filly gave her away out of racing, wanting a sprinter!

Her second foal, bred by David, is BROOKLYN BRIDGE who “won” the other day but lost the race in the Stewards’ Room. And her third is another stunning filly by ELUSIVE FORT, in pre-training for us now.

Next – at Arran Stud – is the reason for repeating the mating with COUP DE GRACE (by world top end sire TAPIT) – a gorgeous filly…and now we have another one.

Four fillies and now she visit DUKE OR MARMALADE, a renowned sire….of fillies. Hmmm. (Mind you, DoM’s Grade 1 winning filly this season was bred by Arran Stud’s Fran Cowe).
