HALF MOON HOTEL WINS HIS THIRD

Aug 9, 2013

HALF MOON HOTEL, just turned 4, accomplished his third victory today over a trip short of his best but in easy although consistent ground.

On Kenilworth’s 1200 metre straight, drawn 2, Gerrit Schlechter took our fellow to a handy spot of the pace and waited for space on the inside. Adequate acreage of space appeared at the right time and the commentator failed to notice his stealthy move to take the lead.

The Alado gelding then showed a good turn of foot to kick nearly clear, holding off challengers by half a length.

Vaughan Marshall has had this fellow in great nick since his gelding.

Ignoring the last run which was a waste of time on awful ground, his last three have been 2nd 1st 1st for THE ALADO PROJECT with this placement being shrewd not only in seizing on a 1200 metre sprint on sticky ground but also in prefacing next week’s sales action.

A timely win for a son of Alado because five Alados will be on offer at the National 2 Year Old Sale 15-16 August, one being HALF MOON HOTEL’s full brother.  FULL MOON HOTEL?
