At Wolverhampton on 14th, FLYING STANDARD – twice a winner and multiple placed – finished 2nd over 2 miles and would have won if allowed two more strides. This good performance follows up several very close 2nd places (by 1 length, a head and twice by ¾ of a length) showing great resolve at his level which is gradually rising.

The next day at Yarmouth, RODOLFO (2 year old colt by Poet’s Voice) made an eminently satisfactory debut in the colours, not fully wound up, taking everything very professionally and following some experience luminaries from the biggest yards home. The winner – John Gosden trained for Qatari interests – looks to be a significant prospect at high leve.

Several Hintlesham Racing shareholders were on course for both races and were very pleased with the efforts. FLYING STANDARD may or may not go to the sales – he is a firm favourite with some – and RODOLFO should improve 7-10 lbs for his first experience.
