1st and 2nd in their 1,000 Guineas and an unlucky 3rd in the 2,000

In the developing Kazakhstan racing scene, Allan Bloodlines purchases have registered classic success and broken track records for the fifth consecutive year. Clients Maksat Akhaev and The Jockey Club of Kazakhstan, to whom congratulations are due, face particularly stiff competition this year with the import of 80 horses, many of them USA breds.

Today in the equivalent of the 1,000 Guineas, GREEN EARRINGS (3yo filly by Captain Rio) beat the track record by nearly 2 seconds in winning the fillies classic, getting home ahead of a very low cost filly MORE THAN CARMA (3yo by MORE THAN READY) who also broke the old record – a record held by another Allan purchase HALLANDALE and before that by another, RUBY MURRAY.

MORE THAN CARMA has only raced twice and was very green but finished well. Irrespective of cost, Allan was very keen on this very smart looking filly at the sales. She is out of a half sister to a SantaA nita Gr.1 winner AMERIQUE and has other black type close up. She was 2nd over 1400m first time out and will now go for the Kazakh Oaks.

GREEN EARRINGS won a National Celebration race on Opening Day, then “won” over 1400m in Almaty but was disqualified, and has now won the 1,000 Guineas.

FUTUNE (3yo filly by Night Shift, ex Brian Meehan) has won at 1600m equalling the track record broken in the 1,000 Guineas and repeated the time in the 2,000 guineas against the colts yesterday, stumbling and almost falling, then recovering to finish 3rd.
