After placing in Cape Town and showing a lack lustre performance in Fairview, DIFFERENT DRUM won her maiden today (1600m) at Fairview at 50/1. Trainer Duncan whom many congratulations, has clearly found the keys to her truly resolute effort which resulted in a meritorious win at her level, overcoming a poor draw with a good ride from Luyolo Mxothwa on the bends then pursuing a clear run to the line.

The 3 year old filly is by Alado (Danzig-Alborada) in our managed Alado Project and her Allan-bred dam Timpanist (GB) by the Sadler’s Wells 4x Gr1 winner Beat Hollow is now 6 winners for 6 runners. DIFFERENT DRUM becomes the 26th winner bred from the imported sisters MESSILA ROSE (dam of Timpanist) and SUNNYDALE and their daughters.

Our Alado half siser to Timpanist (3xwinner in our colours) has a first foal Global View yearling colt aiming for the KZN sale and a foal full brother, while our winning National Emblem daughter of Sunnydale has a Captain of All full sister to a 6x and a currently 1x winner going to the same sale plus a 2 year old filly by Elusive Fort in training and a Duke of Marmalade colt foal on the ground. That mare is in foal to One World.

Another daughter of Sunnydale (also National Emblem also a winner x 3) has a Captain of All colt first foal at foot and is in foal to the same sire.

DIFFERENT DRUM has a yearling full sister at Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud, the last foal of Timpanist.
