Geof Luckett gets it right three times running
LOUGHNATOUSA RAVEN capped a brilliant come-back week at the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead by scoring her third win late this afternoon. The big black mare ran in three classes and won them all.
Geoff Luckett rarely makes a mistake when on potential winners and he got it exactly right in two 1.30m Open and one 1.35m Open competitions. One of the 1.30s and the 1.35 were tough courses but RAVEN did not touch a pole and was seriously quick. The other 1.30 was not as tough but, therefore, required even greater speed and a clear round in 33.15 seconds was enough to repel late challenges from top riders getting to withing a second, but not surpassing RAVEN and Geoff.
On her way back to stronger classes, this well bred mare has a huge jump but has had to learn to compete again. In due course, she will be stepped up back towards the Grand Prix levels at which she was starting to place in 2008/9.
