Amidst the extraordinary fireworks created by a number of major buyers competing hard, there were as ever some great opportunities. Among our purchases were a typical winning Sadler’s Wells mare – and Sadler’s is still the great broodmare sire, although no longer with us – a full sister to a Newmarket Guineas placed colt and a half to three black type winers, all out of a French Gr.1 winner. Also a “secret weapon” in a Rock of Gilbraltar granddaughter of the great Lanwades Foundation Mare ALRUCCABA. Our purchase is half sister to a 340,000 euro Galileo yearling filly just sold and a 340,000 gns Dalakhani yearling filly last year and to two winners.
