2 year old scores comfortably at Kenilworth
SECRET WISH, owned in an Allan Bloodlines partnership convened after purchasing at the 2007 National Yearling Sales in Johannesburg, romped home at Kenilworth today to add to trainer Vaughan Marshall’s list of juvenile winners.
Given an enterprising ride by Sean Veale towards the inside of the track on easy ground, the 2 year old daughter of TARA’S HALLS and the Peter and Libby Mills mare Star Magnolia cruised comfortably in the lead ahead of a 16 strong field. Drawing clear, SECRET WISH eventually won by 2 lengths eased.
Selected by Allan Bloodlines and bought for a modest sum, SECRET WISH attracted consignor Arc En Ciel Stud to retain “a leg” along with Mrs Joanne Knowles who, as Allan Bloodlines’ Cape Town representative, knew enough to recommend the filly to her family. David Allan retained a shareholding as is the company’s habit in developing partnerships.
