Seven Veils is now a winner of three and Listed placed

On a blazing hot day in Port Elizabeth, the Allan Bloodlines filly SEVEN VEILS achieved black type by finishing 3rd in a Fillies & Mares Listed 1200 metre event at Fairview.

Well ridden by Kelvin Jupp, she sat off the pace, negotiated a wall of horses and finished strongly in a crowd of decent fillies.  SERVILIA with solid form in black type races was the one to beat and SEVEN VEILS got to within a length of her in an excellent performance on ground that was riding very fast indeed.

Credit goes to Vaughan Marshall and travelling assistant trainer Louise Pitt who took the filly 12 hours to PE, arriving in great shape and coping well with the heat.

Congratulations also to breeders Wilberbosdrift.  SEVEN VEILS, an Allan Bloodlines purchase for R 200,000 at the National Yearling Sales, will eventually join the Allan broodmare band (https://www.allanbloodlines.com/foalings_matings.php) but first will look for more Feature races after trundling back to the Cape for a well earned rest.

Later in the day, STRAIGHT BAT RACING stalwart TITUS ALONE, a winner at Royal Ascot a few years ago, grabbed 3rd place on a 1200 metre handicap having used up energy at the start reacting to the extreme heat.
