The team of fillies is taking shape at Fawley House

In gathering next year’s 2 year old fillies, a very nice athlete by Kyllachy had already been purchased for special clients as reported elsewhere. Two slots are occupied by fillies bred by Allan Bloodlines, one in USA by Gulch out of a Red Ransom full sister to a Group and Listed winner on both sides of the pond. This filly has just become half sister to a good 2 year old winner at Belmont and is relaxing at Fawley House Stud in Berkshire before starting life as a racehorse. The other is the last foal out of the much loved mare Miss Willow Bend who has spent all her breeding life with Allan Bloodlines and is now in retirement at Tara Stud in Co. Meath. Dam of seven winners, Miss Willow Bend’s last and latest is a filly by Bahri. She has impressed the team at Fawley House where she, too, awaits the start of some real work.

In the competitive markets of Goffs and Tattersalls Part 1, it was very difficult to match preferred pedigree to conformation and when matched, deep pockets caused prices to shoot through the roof. Nevertheless, a six figure budget for an extremely supportive client was an incentive to be as selective as possible. Gambling on passing a short list of several on the first two days at Newmarket , Allan Bloodlines purchased a strong, racy filly by Fantastic Light who looked more like the progeny of her damsire, Fairy King.

With three colts “in the bank” from Ireland , the work continues at Tattersalls Part 2 & 3.
