Rare dead heat at Wolverhampton
3 year old gelding GRAND VIZIER made it two out of two over Wolverhampton’s extended mile this afternoon, when dead-heating as joint winner in handicap company.
He clearly enjoys polytrack but his intermediate turf run at Sandown could just have been on an off day.
Whilst the Racing Post stated that GRAND VIZIER had enjoyed a good run throughout, his back end suddenly rose at one point as he was struck into from behind. Fortunately only suffering superficial cuts, one of which was a couple of millimetres from a dangerous place, GRAND VIZIER did well to finish resolutely. He was joined on the line by the fast finishing HOH WOTANITE but appeared to have held off the late challenge. However, after long deliberation, the judge called a dead heat. But a win is a win.
